Bassb00sted — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

Summary

Bassb00sted does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any user data. Everything the extension does happens locally on your device.

What Bassb00sted does

Bassb00sted is a Chrome extension with a single purpose: enhancing the audio of a browser tab. When you enable it, the tab's audio is routed through audio filters (a bass boost, a volume boost, and a limiter) running inside your browser, and played back to you.

Data collection

Bassb00sted collects none of the following categories of data:

The extension contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no remote code. It makes no network requests.

Audio processing

When you click "Boost ON", Chrome asks the extension to capture that tab's audio stream. The stream is processed entirely in-browser using the Web Audio API and played back immediately. The audio is never recorded, never written to disk, and never leaves your device. Capture ends when you close the tab.

Settings storage

Your preferences (preset, bass gain, shelf frequency, volume boost, and the per-site memory of those choices) are stored on your device using Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). They are not synced, not transmitted anywhere, and are deleted by Chrome when you uninstall the extension.

Permissions

Third parties

No data is shared with third parties, because no data is collected. The extension bundles all of its code; nothing is loaded from remote servers.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the change will be disclosed in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing before it takes effect.
